Functions of medical equipment
Generally, medical equipment such as vital para monitors, electrocardiograms, and diagnostic ultrasound machines are helpful for diagnosing and treating the abnormality in the human body.
Sensors and transducers
Such equipment requires some interfacing between the medical device and the patient for the conduction of signals. These interfaces include probes, electrodes, paddles, etc(which are generally called sensors and transducers). They help in transmitting, receiving, and transducing different types of signals.
Physiological and Electrical Signals.
In accordance with the human body and electronic systems, the signals are classified into two types namely, bio-signals and electric signals. The bio signals are also known as physiological signals generated by the human body. On the other hand, electrical signals are generated by both the human body and electrical circuits.
In recent times, as biomedical engineers, we must learn about sensors and transducers according to the medical equipment. Because modern technologies are evolved with these types of accessories sectors.
